The fast change is threatening Chinese traditions and national culture. The young genaration live a style different from their ancestors'. They prefer counter-tradition way and advocating freedom and personality. They are experiencing unlimited possibilities in alternative way through the mixture of value, money, sensibility and wants. Shenzhen, China's coastal city, a migration city with main population of the young, shows particularly the above characteristics. In the early 1979, Shenzhen was only a small frontier town with no more than 20 thousands population. At present, it has developed into a metropolitan with 13 million population. Its GDP per capita reaches the top among China's most developed cities. Shenzhen was called "a city emerged overnight". This group of photographs recorded the young people's night lives and their passional stories breaking away from trantional bondages and spiritial pressures in the 25 year-old city.
